COVID-19 DISRUPTION RESPONSE AWARDS

Awards for final year PhD students in Nutrition

In response to the hardship caused by the restrictions imposed as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Trustees of the Rank Prize Funds have decided to offer a number of awards for final year PhD students in UK universities which have a major commitment to teaching and research in human nutrition, animal nutrition and crop husbandry. The scheme is intended to support students whose studies have been disrupted by the restrictions and who would not otherwise have the financial resources to be able to complete their studies in a timely manner. Awards of either £2,500 or £5,000 are available. Applicants should not be in receipt of similar funding from another source.

Each Department is invited to nominate one final-year Nutrition PhD student to receive an award. This fund is intended for genuine cases of hardship caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and the restrictions it has caused, which cannot be covered by other funds. The grant is to cover the student's living costs only and is not to be used for university fees or research costs. The closing date for applications is midnight on Friday 31st July 2020. We anticipate that payments will be made early in September 2020.

Only one application per department will be considered.

Please note that we can only consider applications submitted by the department. Applications received directly from students cannot be considered.
